Chief Bishop Bober Wishes Everyone Health, Deep Wisdom and Hope in New Year

Bratislava, 31 December (TASR) - Kosice Metropolitan Archbishop and Conference of Bishops of Slovakia (KBS) chairman Bernard Bober wishes everyone good health, deep wisdom, and hope for the new year, which come from the loving heart of God, as well as the courage to start anew, TASR was told by the KBS press office on Wednesday, adding that he also prays for our homeland and for an end to armed conflicts around the world. "At the beginning of the new calendar year and on the feast day of the Virgin Mary, Mother of God, I thank God for the time He gives us in His goodness. Let us allow God's grace to work in us so that the fruits of the jubilee we've experienced may be fully manifested. May the relationships between us bear witness to God's love and mercy and bring others to God," said the head of the KBS in his message. "On the day when we also commemorate the setting up of the independent Slovak Republic, I pray for our homeland and the entire human family. I ask God, the Father of all people, to hear our prayers and grant the earth the peace it longs for," he stated. Bober also prays for an end to all armed conflicts and violence. "Let's do our best to ensure that the peace of the risen Christ is born in our hearts every day. Let's create space for sincere and loving dialogue and acceptance, without prejudice and anger. Only by listening to each other and appreciating the good that is in each of us can we develop cooperation and contribute to the well-being of our beloved country," urged Bober. am/mcs
