Bratislava, 19 December (TASR) - A paper focusing on a quantitative analysis of residual DNA in selected batches of mRNA vaccines against COVID-19, prepared by researchers from the Biomedical Research Centre (BMC) of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAV) and the Science Park of the Comenius University, has been published in the international scientific journal npj Vaccines, TASR was told by head of SAV's communications department Katarina Galikova on Friday. "By publishing the paper in this scientific journal, the researchers have confirmed the scientific value of results contained in the report on the quantitative analysis of residual DNA that was commissioned on the basis of a resolution of the Slovak government," stated SAV, adding that their work garnered interest from experts and received five peer reviews with positive feedback on the data presented. "We believe that the fact that the results have been accepted and published in such a specialised and prestigious scientific journal are, for one thing, a hallmark of high-quality and meaningful work, while, for another, they'll contribute towards building greater trust in scientists and their work," said BMC SAV head Silvia Pastorekova, who is also the corresponding author of the paper. jrg/df
