Bratislava 16 December (TASR) - Effective, coordinated and predictable development cooperation and humanitarian aid of Slovakia also depend on closer cooperation between the state and development organisations, Foreign and European Affairs Deputy Minister Rastislav Chovanec declared on Tuesday. On Monday (15 December), Chovanec met representatives of the Platform of Development Organisations — Ambrela. The talks followed previous dialogue with the ministry, aiming to more effectively link the non-governmental and business sectors in delivering assistance in partner countries. "Development organisations are an important partner for us. In this context, we also view Ambrela, which plays a coordinating role among these organisations in Slovakia and has actively contributed to the preparation of our Medium-Term Strategy for Development Cooperation for 2025-2030," Chovanec said, adding that the intention of Slovak diplomacy is to support their greater involvement in individual areas. The Platform of Development Organisations — Ambrela affiliates almost 30 Slovak entities — mainly non-governmental organisations — active in development cooperation, humanitarian aid, global education and sustainable development. It represents their common interests at home and abroad and also seeks to strengthen solidarity and public awareness of the need to address poverty, lack of freedom and humanitarian crises in the world. mf
