Judicial Council Elects Mecelova as Candidate for Supreme Court Vice-chair Post

Bratislava, 16 December (TASR) - The Judicial Council elected Terezia Mecelova as candidate for Supreme Court vice-chair post at its session on Tuesday. Subsequently, the council will submit a proposal for her appointment to President Peter Pellegrini. Mecelova was nominated as a candidate for the vice-chair post by Supreme Court chairman Frantisek Mozner. In her presentation, Mecelova said that she accepted the proposal for her candidacy because she's identified herself with Mozner's visions, such as stabilising the personnel of the Supreme Court, providing a dignified location for the court, and modernising its information technologies. Judicial Council chair Marcela Kosova originally announced the election for 16 September but had to reschedule it when the originally proposed candidate withdrew his candidacy. She announced the election because Andrea Moravcikova's term in office expired on 8 October. ko/df
