Bratislava, 11 December (TASR) - Slovakia's construction output amounted to €818 million in October 2025, up 3.7 percent year-on-year (y-o-y) in fixed prices, the Statistics Office reported on Thursday, adding that the sector significantly decreased its growth pace, which was the third lowest seen this year.
Seasonally adjusted, construction output fell by 3.6 percent from September 2025.
The overall result was positively influenced by a 2.6-percent increase in the dominant domestic new construction and a 5.8-percent increase in repairs and maintenance construction work. Domestic construction output accounted for 88 percent of total construction output.
Concerning the type of construction, output growth resulted solely from a 6.2-percent increase in the dominant construction of buildings, while the work on civil-engineering structures, including highways fell by 4.5 percent.
The overall result was also positively influenced by the output of Slovak construction firms abroad, which increased by 13.6 percent y-o-y.
In the first ten months of 2025, construction output reached €6.6 billion, up 7.1 percent y-o-y. This positive result can be ascribed to a 5.3 percent increase in the dominant domestic new construction and a 3.6 percent growth in repairs and maintenance work. Construction work carried out by Slovak firms abroad rose by one quarter y-o-y.
