Brussels, 26 November (TASR-correspondent) - The European Commission (EC) has announced that European Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Christophe Hansen will visit Hungary and Slovakia between Wednesday and Friday (28 November) to discuss the future of the common agricultural policy after 2027.
The commissioner has already visited all other EU-member states regarding this matter.
Hansen will be received in Bratislava on Thursday (27 November) for a working dinner with Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Richard Takac (Smer-SD). They'll discuss the common agricultural policy in the next multi-annual financial framework and the development of rural areas in Slovakia.
On Friday, Hansen will participate in two round-table discussions with young farmers and agricultural organisations to exchange views on the future of European agriculture and discuss a generational renewal strategy aimed at attracting young people to the agricultural sector. At the Agriculture Ministry on Friday afternoon the European commissioner will present producers with the newly registered geographical designation for Muranske buchty (sweet Muranske buns), and he'll conclude his stay in Slovakia with a meeting with farmers in an orchard in the village of Dunajska Luzna in Bratislava region.
