Bratislava, 17 November (TASR) - Slovak police officers detained a person in Martin (Zilina region) last Tuesday (11 November) for whom the German judicial authorities had issued a European arrest warrant, spokesperson for the Police Corps Presidium Roman Hajek informed TASR on Monday. "The wanted person is reasonably suspected in Germany of having committed a serious violent crime in 2024, classified under the German Penal Code as attempted serious robbery in conjunction with intentional bodily harm. If found guilty of this crime, the wanted person could be sent to prison for up to 15 years," said Hajek. The person was detected in Martin based on international police cooperation, operational information and monitoring of the person's movements in Slovakia. "After carrying out the necessary actions, the person was escorted to a relevant regional court, which will decide on preliminary detention and further steps in extradition proceedings to the German judicial authorities," added the spokesperson. ko/df
