Bratislava, 5 November (TASR) - Agriculture Minister Richard Takac (Smer-SD) has dismissed Vojtech Ferencz from the post of general director of state-run forestry company Lesy SR and tasked the director of the company's Tribec branch Juraj Marko with managing the firm, the Agriculture Ministry informed TASR on Wednesday. Ferencz, who replaced Tibor Menyhart in the post, had led the state-owned enterprise since October 20, and so had served in the post for only two weeks. His appointment was criticised by the opposition Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party, which pointed out that Ferencz served as a state secretary at the Economy Ministry at the time when the current House Vice-chair Peter Ziga (Voice-SD), whose family is engaged in trading in timber, was at its helm. Lesy SR is one of Slovakia's largest companies, with an annual turnover exceeding €300 million. The company posted a net profit of €5.8 million last year. ko/df
