Constitutional Court Judge Emeritus Gajdosikova Dies on Tuesday

Bratislava, 7 October (TASR) – Former Constitutional Court judge Ludmila Gajdosikova died on Tuesday, the court's spokesperson Martina Ferencova confirmed for TASR on the same day.
"As a Constitutional Court judge, she devoted herself responsibly and selflessly to the court's decision-making work, applying her professional knowledge and extensive experience," said Ferencova.
"Her fellow judges and the court office staff will remember her as a hard-working, thorough and responsible person, as an erudite expert who made a significant contribution to the protection of fundamental human rights and freedoms, and also as a kind and caring colleague," she added.
Gajdosikova was born in 1953. She studied at the Faculty of Law of Comenius University in Bratislava. She served as a Constitutional Court judge for two terms between 2000 and 2019, having been appointed twice – on 22 January 2000 and again on 16 February 2007.
In the past, she also worked at the Institute of State and Law of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. She was a member of the government's Legislative Council and served as director of the legislative department of the President's Office. She also worked in various posts at the Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Ministry, including as a state secretary, and she was active in publishing work.
