Monaco, 3 October (TASR) – House Speaker Richard Rasi visited Monaco on Thursday where he met with his counterpart Thomas Brezzo and invited him to visit Slovakia, the Parliament Office's communications department informed TASR on Friday. The aim of Rasi's visit was to revitalise and strengthen bilateral relations, with a particular focus on economic, technological and cultural cooperation. In November, a business mission jointly organised by the Monaco Economic Board and the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry is planned to take place in Monaco. The Slovak delegation will be led by Foreign Affairs Minister Juraj Blanar. As part of the mission, the Slovak-Monegasque business forum, which is scheduled for 12 November, will also be attended by Brezzo. "I am extremely pleased that my Monegasque counterpart, Mr Brezzo, has accepted the invitation to the economic forum. I see his presence as a strong signal of mutual interest in deepening our economic relations," stated Rasi. "I firmly believe that this event will bring concrete results and open the door to new investments and innovative projects that will take our cooperation to a higher level. Parliaments can and must play an important role in supporting economic and investment relations," said the Slovak parliamentary head. During his visit to Monaco, Rasi also held a short bilateral meeting with Prince Albert II who officially presented and christened the new book ZEM/EARTH and a documentary of the same name by Slovak photographer Filip Kulisev, with Finance Minister Ladislav Kamenicky also attending the event. According to Rasi, the event was a unique opportunity to promote Slovakia and further strengthen cultural exchange between both countries. jrg/mcs
