Bratislava, 21 August (TASR) - Anna Zaborska's faith wasn't just a word - it was her lifestyle, which she manifested in her service and work, especially in the field of protecting life and helping women and mothers in need, stated Slovak Bishops Conference (KBS) head and Archbishop of Kosice Bernard Bober in a condolence telegram in connection with the death of the MP, expressing his sincere condolences to her entire family and colleagues. Bober considered Zaborska to be a woman with an open heart who could bring people together with kindness, gentleness and peace. "Her passing is a loss for all of us, but she also leaves us with a powerful legacy - that loyalty, humility and service have the power to change the world for the better," said Bober. The KBS head pointed out that Zaborska remained true to her values in public life and in personal relationships, bringing encouragement, help and hope. "I thank her on behalf of all the Catholic bishops of Slovakia for her humanity and service, as she was a member of the Sub-commission for Bioethics of the KBS Theological Commission and the KBS Council for Pastoral Care in Health Care. ... We pray for the salvation of her soul. May she rest in peace," he added. MP Anna Zaborska died at the age of 77 on Wednesday (20 August). After leaving her original party, the Christian Democratic Movement (KDH), she co-founded the KU party, which she led until 2024. In addition to being an MP, she also served as an MEP between 2004 and 2019. am/df
