Bratislava, 16 July (TASR) – GIB EnergyX Slovakia, a major investor aiming to operate within the Surany Industrial Park, is still undergoing the environmental impact assessment (EIA) process for its planned battery production plant, which remains incomplete.
Until the EIA is finalized, the plant cannot begin full operations, the state-owned company MH Invest stated on Wednesday in response to recent opposition criticism.
The opposition had intended to raise concerns about the battery plant during Wednesday’s session of the parliamentary Committee on Agriculture and the Environment, but the meeting was not quorate.
According to MH Invest, every future investor interested in operating in the Surany Industrial Park will also be required to fulfill all legal obligations under relevant legislation.
MH Invest added that it is bound to gradually fulfill commitments stemming from the investment agreement and the preliminary purchase agreement signed between the Slovak Republic, MH Invest, Gotion High-Tech Co., Ltd., and GIB EnergyX Slovakia.
„All these procedures are fully transparent and subject to oversight,” the company emphasized, noting that both experts and the general public have access to all applications, proceedings, and permits - which are properly published on the websites of the relevant state authorities and institutions.
