Bratislava, 10 June (TASR) - In connection with the tragedy that took place in the Austrian city of Graz on Tuesday, Slovak President Peter Pellegrini has posted on a social network that he believes that systematic solutions will gradually be found via mutual cooperation between developed countries, thereby increasing safety in schools and universities. Pellegrini expressed his sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. The president is horrified by the fact that schools in civilised countries are becoming the scene of attacks by unhinged shooters. "The tragic consequences of this are victims in the form of innocent children and adolescents who had their whole lives ahead of them. Schools should be a places where pupils and students can feel safe, and parents must be sure every morning that they are escorting their children to a safe world that will enrich them spiritually and where nothing bad will happen to them," wrote Pellegrini. At least nine people were killed and twice as many were injured in a shooting spree at a secondary school in the Austrian city of Graz on Tuesday morning. The perpetrator committed suicide. ko/df
