Bratislava, January 22 (TASR) - President Peter Pellegrini has requested the convening of a Security Council meeting, the President's Office has informed TASR, adding that he made this decision following his visit to the headquarters of the Slovak Intelligence Service (SIS) on Wednesday. The president intends to approach Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD) with a request to convene a Security Council meeting and will attend it in person, said the office. The premier presented a SIS report at a special House session dedicated to the opposition proposal to dismiss him on Tuesday (January 21). It was a classified report, and the session was turned into a non-public one, a move that was criticised by the opposition. The intelligence service claims to have obtained serious information on "long-term activities aimed at destabilising the Slovak Republic". In reaction to this, the president announced that he would visit SIS headquarters to familiarise himself with all relevant information concerning this report. ko/df
