Drucker Meets with British Minister of Skills in London, Forges New Partnerships

Bratislava/London, November 29 (TASR) - Education Minister Tomas Drucker (Voice-SD) completed his two-day visit to London, where he met with British Minister for Skills Jacqui Smith, representatives of education organisations and students of Slavic studies, TASR learnt from the ministry press department on Friday. The outcome of these meetings, aside from forging new partnerships, is also the nascent cooperation in the assessment of efficiency of education support measures. The bilateral talks with minister Smith revolved mostly around skills, inclusion and critical thinking. Also broached was the cooperation in university education and a behavioural approach to communication with schools and parents. Drucker discussed cooperation in science, research and university education with Professor Richard C. M. Mole of the University College London. Following this meeting, he held a discussion with academics and students of Slavic studies about the education in Slovakia. Subsequently, Drucker visited Imperial College London, where he met with academics from the department of bio-engineering and nuclear energy and talked about specifics concerning the study of these fields. mf/mcs
