Bratislava, September 30 (TASR) - Economy Minister Denisa Sakova (Voice-SD) on Monday signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of energy and a memorandum on the development of economic cooperation with South Korea, TASR learnt from the Economy Ministry on the same day.
The memoranda focus on comprehensive cooperation in energy, trade as well as investment promotion between Slovakia and South Korea.
"Companies from South Korea are important investors in Slovakia and we share the same view on the development of the energy sector. I am glad that we have taken these areas to a higher level and together we not only signed memoranda of cooperation, but we also held talks at the highest level on further cooperation," said Sakova.
The first memorandum addresses comprehensive cooperation in the field of energy, addressing nuclear energy as a key element in the transition to sustainable and low-carbon energy solutions, in addition to energy efficiency and security. In the document, both sides expressed their commitment to support the development of nuclear energy technologies. The cooperation is aimed at sharing information, technologies and best practices in the field of nuclear energy, which will contribute to improving energy security and efficiency, the Economy Ministry explained.
The second memorandum will focus on establishing a framework for cooperation between the two countries in the area of trade and investment promotion, aiming to reduce trade barriers, streamline customs processes and promote business between Slovakia and South Korea. The memorandum should also ensure an open and stable trading environment that will contribute to the economic growth and prosperity of both countries.
