MPs Again Fail to Open Session on Drucker's Ouster, Next Try on Wednesday

dnes 10:17
Bratislava, 9 June (TASR) - Parliament on Tuesday again failed to debate a motion to dismiss Education Minister Tomas Drucker's (Voice-SD) ouster, as it lacked a quorum when attempting to open the special session at a second attempt. Only 63 MPs were present in the chamber. MPs will make another attempt to discuss the motion on Wednesday (10 June) morning. The no-confidence motion was initiated by opposition MPs from the Christian Democrats (KDH), 'Slovakia' and Progressive Slovakia (PS) parties. They criticised the head of the Education Ministry for the failure of the new electronic ePrihlaska (eApplication) system. According to them, the system is conceptually flawed, unnecessary, expensive and untested. In response, the ministry stated that the implementation of a large-scale system is not without errors and it is fair to say so openly, but it sees no reason to sensationalise these errors for political gain. ko
