Tomas: Thirteenth Pensions Will Be Paid Out No Later Than 19 December This Year

Bratislava, 2 December (TASR) - The thirteenth pension will be received by all recipients by 19 December at the latest, that is, before Christmas, Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Minister Erik Tomas (Voice-SD) announced at a press conference on Tuesday. "Exactly today, on 2 December, we're officially starting to pay out thirteenth pensions. As is already known, the payment period for pensions is from the 2nd to the 24th day of the month. However, due to the thirteenth pension, we want to shorten this payment period in December, and so the thirteenth pension will be paid from 2 December to 19 December, so that every recipient of this benefit and this pension will receive the thirteenth pension before Christmas," said the head of the Labour Ministry. The minister emphasised that the thirteenth pension will be paid this year in exactly the amount that it was supposed to be paid, that is, the average pension for the previous year in all pension categories. In the case of old-age pensions, early retirement pensions and disability pensions after reaching retirement age, the amount is €667.30. Meanwhile, in the case of disability pensions for disabilities over 70 percent and social pensions, the amount is €548.50. Recipients of disability pensions for disabilities of up to 70 percent will receive €301.40, recipients of widow's pensions €363.20, recipients of widower's pensions €300.10, and recipients of orphan's pensions €300.00. am/df
