Bratislava, 2 December (TASR) - The average nominal monthly salary in Slovakia amounted to €1,569 in the third quarter of 2025, up by 5.7 percent year-on-year (y-o-y), the Statistics Office reported on Tuesday.
Gross monthly incomes of employees thus increased by €85 on average. However, rising inflation between July and September slowed down real-salary growth to 1.3 percent.
Average nominal monthly salaries exceeded the €1,000 threshold in all the 19 monitored branches of the economy. All of the branches also posted increases in average nominal monthly salaries, although three of them failed to keep pace with inflation. The fastest growth in real monthly salaries was posted in the sectors of real estate, mining and health care.
When considering inflation, real salaries fell in three branches: in scientific and technical activities (down by 2.4 percent), in art, entertainment and recreation (1.4 percent) and in administrative services (1 percent).
More rapid real-salary growth than the average for the entire Slovak economy was seen by employees engaged in 11 sectors. The most significant improvement of more than 5 percent was felt by employees in three areas of the economy: in real-estate activities, in mining and quarrying, and in health care. The growth in the salaries of health-care workers was related to the valorisation of salaries in selected professions for 2025.
The highest average monthly salary of over €2,500 was earned by employees engaged in the IT sector, in financial and insurance services, and in electricity, gas and steam supplies. However, gross monthly salaries in nine out of 19 monitored sectors lagged behind the country-wide average. The lowest earnings continued to be earned by employees in accommodation and catering services, although their gross income exceeded €1,000 per month for the first time.
In the first three quarters of 2025, the average nominal monthly salary in Slovakia amounted to €1,580, up 6.5 percent y-o-y. Real monthly salaries increased by 2.3 percent y-o-y in the first three quarters of this year.
