Heger: 13 Slovak Firefighters and Two Mountain Rescuers to Travel to Turkey

Bratislava, February 6 (TASR) - Slovakia will participate in helping Turkey following a devastating earthquake that has claimed hundreds of lives, interim Premier Eduard Heger (OLANO) has posted on a social network. According to Heger, 13 Slovak firefighters and two mountain rescuers with dogs will travel to the country. "My thoughts are with the bereaved in Turkey and in Syria. I'm sending them my sincere condolences," he added. The 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit an area in southeastern Turkey near the border with Syria at 4 a.m. local time on Monday. The epicentre was located north of the Turkish city of Gaziantep. Tremors were felt in the Turkish capital Ankara, Cyprus, the Gaza Strip and Cairo, Egypt.
