Bratislava, May 23 (TASR) - At a session of the coalition council on Sunday (May 22), the SaS party unveiled proposals to its coalition partners with which it would like to amend measures sponsored by Finance Minister Igor Matovic (OLaNO), SaS caucus chair Anna Zemanova told TASR on Monday. Zemanova declared that the Finance Ministry should peruse the SaS' proposal to cut VAT tax on diesel and petrol, and crunch the numbers. The SaS' initiative has recruited support also from the 'For the People' party, 'For the People' vice-chair Juraj Seliga told TASR. As for the set of anti-inflation measures, Zemanova expects that several amending proposals will be tabled. "We don't take part in the debate because we won't vote in favour of the proposal nor the amending proposals," she claimed. Seliga added that the oil tax should yet be discussed by the SaS party and the Finance Ministry. "We support the reduction of fuel prices by 18 cents, that's how it adds up on average because the VAT should be slashed to 8 percent," he said and voiced hope that the change will demonstrate the capability of the coalition to cooperate. 'We Are Family' caucus chair Peter Pcolinsky reported that the caucus will yet discuss the conclusions of the coalition council session on Tuesday (May 24). mf
