Bratislava, December 7 (TASR) - Non-parliamentary Voice-SD demands the state to pay €200 to every senior citizen to help them weather a serious social crisis to be caused by the price hikes in food and energy, regardless of whether they're vaccinated or not, party spokesperson Patricia Medved Macikova said on Tuesday. "The unvaccinated seniors are suffering from expensive foodstuffs and energy exactly the same way as the vaccinated and the state mustn't exclude them from their aid," claimed party leader Peter Pellegrini. The Voice-SD underlined that it opposes mandatory vaccination, as it would cause an "explosion" of tension in the already polarised Slovak society. "The vaccination must remain voluntary and the state mustn't force the people into the vaccination on pain of either fines or making them foot the bill for their treatment costs," added Pellegrini. As for the relaxing of measures, the party demands the reintroduction of the OTP mode that would enable the participation in public life also for the unvaccinated with negative PCR tests. On the other hand, if the Government ever decides to shut down establishments, the Voice-SD demands massive compensations for the businesses affected. mf
