Vienna, October 22 (TASR) - The pandemic has brought us closer to our neighbours but we must not ease up, because winter will be a test for everyone, Foreign Affairs Minister Ivan Korcok (a Freedom and Solidarity/SaS) nominee said during his Friday working visit to the Austrian capital Vienna, where he also held talks with his counterparts from the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovenia at the invitation of Austrian Foreign Affairs Minister Michael Linhart, TASR was told by ministry's press department on the same day. Korcok informed the partners about the development of the epidemic situation in Slovakia, the measures taken, including the border arrangements and the state of vaccination. The foreign ministers emphasised that the prospects for economic recovery in the EU are conditional on the ability to prevent further lockdowns. "Solutions in the fight against COVID-19 can only be found in close coordination at the regional and European levels. This is confirmed by further informal talks between the five foreign ministers of our region. For the time being, I see the current setting up of border arrangements to be trouble-free," said Korcok. am/mcs
