BRATISLAVA - The Slovak Information Service (SIS) closely cooperates with or has contacts with more than 100 partner intelligence services from the whole world, and the number has grown in recent years, TASR was informed by SIS spokesperson Simona Svitkova in connection with this year's report on the state of the European Union by chair of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, in which she mentioned the need for closer cooperation between secret services. Speaking on television channel Markiza’s politics show ‘Tough Questions’ on Sunday, For the People vice-chair and MP Juraj Seliga said that Smer-SD head Robert Fico’s claims about the existence of “devastating” evidence proving unlawful activities of Interior Minister Roman Mikulec (OLaNO) are only an attempt to intimidate the minister, adding that Mikulec has convinced him that he hasn’t committed anything illicit. Addressing the situation concerning the pandemic on TA3’s discussion programme ‘In Politics’ on Sunday, Health Minister Vladimir Lengvarsky (an OLaNO nominee) conceded that anti-virus measures could be tightened. PADUA - Students of the Italian University of Padua on Saturday awarded an in memoriam prize to murdered Slovak journalist Jan Kuciak and his fiancee Martina Kusnirova for their contribution to the fight for the protection of human rights, TASR learnt on Sunday from the Foreign Affairs Ministry. zel
