Kuciak and Kusnirova Receive In Memoriam Award from Padua University Students

Padua, September 26 (TASR) - Students of the Italian University of Padua on Saturday awarded an in memoriam prize to murdered Slovak journalist Jan Kuciak and his fiancee Martina Kusnirova for their contribution to the fight for the protection of human rights, TASR learnt on Sunday from the Foreign Affairs Ministry. The ceremony at the university was attended by Kuciak’s and Kusnirova’s parents, who received the award on behalf of their murdered children, as well as Slovak Ambassador to Italy Karla Wursterova, investigative journalist and Kuciak’s former closest colleague Pavla Holcova, member of the Slovak Judicial Council Pavol Zilincik and head of the Italian National Press Federation Giuseppe Giulietti. The University of Padua, which is one of the oldest universities in the world, has a long-standing commitment to the protection of human rights. zel
