Bratislava, June 11 (TASR) - Due to a further decrease in the number of COVID-19 cases, Trencin district should be coloured orange in the COVID-19 automaton from next (24th) week, stated the Regional Public Health Office (RUVZ) in Trencin on Friday. "RUVZ Trencin evaluated the situation for Trencin district for next week at level 3, which means orange for the district," confirmed spokeswoman for the Public Health Office (UVZ) Dasa Rackova. Rackova pointed out that although in the previous weeks (weeks 21-22) they recorded a decrease in the number of cases in Trencin district, due to the ongoing local epidemics, the hygienists kept the district in light red during the evaluation last week. "We recorded two epidemics in schools in the city of Trencin, which we later managed to restrict; other cases were sporadic, without subsequent spread," she added. Based on a government resolution issued on Wednesday (June 9), Trencin district was coloured light red as of Monday, June 14 because of the current risk with regard to the spread of COVID-19. Trencin mayor Richard Rybnicek called on Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OLaNO) on Friday to convene an online Cabinet session by Sunday (June 13) that would approve a change for Trencin district, moving it from light red to orange according to the COVID-automaton. Based on a misunderstanding, Trencin district is set to remain light red next week, thereby maintaining limits on business activities and everyday life, Rybnicek told a meeting of K8 regional capital mayors in Trnava on Friday. am/mcs
