Former Smer-SD MP Petrak Laid to Final Rest

Bratislava, February 25 (TASR) - Several Smer-SD MPs as well as Parliamentary Chair Boris Kollar and Parliamentary Vice-chairs Juraj Seliga, Gabor Grendel, Juraj Blanar and Milan Laurencik attended on Thursday the funeral of former Smer-SD MP Lubomir Petrak. President Zuzana Caputova didn"t attend the event in person, but she sent a letter, which was read out by Petrak"s friend and partisan colleague Dusan Jarjabek. Head of Smer-SD Robert Fico and Kollar were among those who delivered their eulogies. They praised Petrak as a friend, colleague and expert whom they held in high esteem for his decency, fairness and willingness to look for compromises. Petrak died on February 20 at the age of 59. He was a member of the Smer-SD leadership and the mayor of Hurbanova Ves (Bratislava region). In the past, Petrak operated as the head of the parliamentary education committee. zel/mcs
