Kollar Happy with Pfundtner's Election, Dostal Could Envision Better Candidates

Bratislava, June 25 (TASR) - Opposition We Are Family party leader Boris Kollar is happy with the election of Edita Pfundtner as a Constitutional Court judge candidate, adding that his party has voted for her since the beginning. Contrariwise, Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) MP Ondrej Dostal could envision better hopefuls than her. "She's a coalition candidate, hence that partisanship affinity is obvious there," claimed Dostal. He also believes that the fact only one candidate was elected suggests that the coalition parties don't take the Constitutional Court seriously. Kollar, however, perceives the fact that five names the coalition Smer-SD, SNS and Most-Hid agreed on weren't elected as the evidence of the coalition's dysfunction. "If they clinched a deal, it should have been observed," he stated, adding that We Are Family will support public votes for the nominees. mf/mcs
