Bratislava, May 20 (TASR) - Ombudswoman Maria Patakyova stated on Monday in Parliament, reading her 2018 activity report, that should basic rights and freedoms clash with other basic rights, freedoms and values it"s important to look for an appropriate balance between them. Her office registered 178 infringements of basic rights last year. Especially the area of protection of rights of children, seniors and other vulnerable groups, such as marginalised groups or LGBT people, is seen as problematic by the office. The office also dealt, for example, with approaches towards education, escaping generational poverty and practices of the police. Patakyova also noted that in two cases she filed a complaint at the Constitutional Court. zel
