Sutaj Estok Signs Cooperation Deal on Combating Organised Crime in Italy

Bratislava, May 9 (TASR) - Interior Minister Matus Sutaj Estok (Voice-SD) and his Italian counterpart Matteo Piantedosi have signed an intergovernmental agreement on closer police cooperation in the fight against organised crime, TASR learnt from the Interior Ministry's press department on Thursday. "Once again, we're sending a clear signal that the Slovak Republic is prepared to offer maximum cooperation in the fight against international organised crime," stated the minister. The agreement was signed on Wednesday, May 8 in Italy. The two ministers also discussed migration and the challenges faced by both countries at the moment. They concurred that the only effective solution is to stop migration flows before they reach the territory of the EU. mf/df
