Survey: Money and Extra Holidays Most Attractive Benefits for Employees

Bratislava, May 5 (TASR) - Financial bonuses, holidays beyond the scope set by the law and home office are the most sought-after benefits for employees, according to the latest survey carried out by Grafton Slovakia recruitment agency between January 3 and February 2, 2024 on a sample of 798 respondents. "Financial bonuses are still in first place. Surprisingly, extra vacation days have been most frequently demanded by employees in 2024," said the agency's marketing director Jitka Kouba. Home office is the third most popular benefit that people ask about as early as during interviews. This chiefly concerns the IT sector, administrative and media services and financial activities. According to Kouba, firms currently don't favour home office; quite the opposite: they are 'pressing' employees back to offices, as it's more effective for them to have them at their workplaces. An increase in benefits has been partly caused by high inflation and pressure on salary growth. Kouba explained that firms have started to offer bigger benefits to employees in the post-Covid period. The agency stated that as many as 90 percent of people show interest in the benefits offered by companies when being interviewed. The survey further showed that the younger generation Z prefers the same benefits as their older and more experienced colleagues. Financial bonuses come first, followed by paid days off and a budget for personal growth. The possibility of career growth can also be decisive for them when choosing a job. ko/df
