Taraba Dismisses Slovak Karst National Park Head Milan Oleksak

2. mája 2024 13:26
Bratislava, May 2 (TASR) - Environment Minister Tomas Taraba (a Slovak National Party/SNS nominee) on Thursday dismissed Milan Oleksak from the post of director of Slovak Karst National Park Administration, the ministry's communications department told TASR on Thursday, adding that Martin Golian will be entrusted with managing the national park as of Friday (May 3). The Environment Ministry stated that Oleksak was removed from his post in accordance with the law, with the reason being both poor management decisions and a lack of communication in the region with important players in the zoning process. Oleksak had served in the management of the national park since the autumn of 2022. Golian has more than ten years of experience in protection and care of the environment. Since 2013, he's been working at the environmental protection department of Roznava District Office (Kosice region). The Environment Ministry plans to announce a standard selection procedure for the post. am/df
