Brussels, April 27 (TASR-correspondent) - An exhibition of photos by Slovak photographer Diana Takacsova called 'Temporary Views' was opened on the premises of the Slovak Consulate General in Brussels earlier this week, TASR has learnt from General Consul Andrej Michalec. Michalec noted that the event is being held under the Slovak House brand and that the Slovak Consulate General helped to organise it in cooperation with the 40 x 60 Brussels artist collective as part of a flagship project involving the presentation of Slovakia's culture in Belgium called 'ROOTS 2024'. The exhibition will last until May 17. Takacsova's photos will also be presented at the 40 x 60 Brussels gallery on the external premises of the consulate, said Michalec. The photographer from Slovakia, who lives in the Belgian city of Ostend, presented her own view of the Belgian coast of the North Sea through her work. She said that the Temporary Views project explores both the constants and variables of this special place, which has been transformed into one of the most unique but at the same time most vulnerable coasts of Europe. No area of Belgium has undergone such a radical transformation as the North Sea coast. Diana Takacsova has been mainly working on long-term, research-based projects. She's received the Slovak Press Photo award and a grant from the National Geographic Society. She's a member of the Women Photograph group and exhibits her work all over Europe. Her photos have been published in The New York Times, BBC, Mongabay, GEO, New Lines Magazine and the Oxford Monitor of Forced Migration. ko/df
