Kosice, April 26 (TASR) - President Zuzana Caputova ended her week-long stay in office in eastern Slovakia with a meeting with former president Rudolf Schuster in Kosice on Friday. Caputova's programme on Friday also included a discussion with students of journalism and political science at the Faculty of Arts of Pavol Jozef Safarik University on the importance of free media for democracy. "I've been very happy here, I feel good here. The atmosphere I experience here is unique and precious for me, and in some ways so healing - to be a bit further away from the castle hill of Bratislava," she said at the end of the trip to the east of the country. In addition to Kosice, the head of state also visited Presov, Stara Lubovna and the village of Zborov (both Presov region). "I've met many extremely talented people here - young, older, middle-aged, who are engaged in various fields, so I'll always come to the east to warm up and I'll be very happy to come back here, even when I'm no longer in the presidential office," she stated. Caputova said that the meeting with Schuster was held in a good mood. They both agreed that it would be good to meet even after her term as head of state ends in June, as they have a lot to say to each other. The ex-president, who turned 90 in January, thanked Caputova for coming to Kosice and for her tenure so far. "We've even found a common denominator to address some of Kosice's problems, but I won't talk about that yet, as it's only on the way," Schuster told reporters. am/mcs
