Bratislava, April 26 (TASR) - The results of the elections to the European Parliament (EP) can only be published after the elections are completed in the last EU-member state, which means not before 11 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, head of the European Parliament's Office in Slovakia Robert Sermek has told TASR. The EU-wide dates for holding the EP elections run between June 6 and June 9. Slovaks will be able to cast votes for their MEPs between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 8. "These are not only Slovak elections, but EU-wide ones, so the rules are partly common. The EP elections are technically held according to the Interior Ministry's rules in line with Slovak national legislation, but there are some points in common, such as the date range between June 6-9," explained Sermek. According to him, the results can't be published earlier in order to avoid influencing voting between individual EU countries. ko/df
