Rasi Counts on Nomination for Post of House Chair, KDH Admits Supporting Him

(RTVS, 'Sobotne dialogy', April 20) Speaking on RTVS's politics programme 'Sobotne dialogy' (Saturday Dialogues) Investments, Regional Development and Informatisation Minister Richard Rasi (Voice-SD) said that he's counting on being a candidate for the post of parliamentary chair, adding that the coalition will return to the issue after the European Parliament elections. Chairman of the Christian Democrats (KDH) Milan Majersky, who was also on the show, assumes that the party will support Rasi. In connection with the attitude of Slovak National Party (SNS) chairman Andrej Danko, Rasi pointed out that the coalition agreement should be observed. "I think it isn't about nominating me as a person, he has no problem with me, but yes, the problem is that he would see himself in this post," he said, adding that the coalition agreement won't be opened. Majersky stated KDH won't support any candidate for the post of parliamentary chair. However, he can imagine that the party would support Rasi. "I assume that we'll probably support Minister Rasi," said Majersky, expressing a belief that the coalition will resolve the issue as soon as possible and submit a proposal for a new parliamentary head. am
