MFA: Slovakia Preparing Official Visit to China

Bratislava, April 17 (TASR) - Slovakia is preparing an official visit to China under the leadership of Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD) in June, TASR has learnt from the Foreign Affairs Ministry. On Tuesday, State Secretary Marek Estok met Chinese Ambassador to Slovakia Cai Ge to discuss preparation of political consultations at the level of state secretaries that will take place in late April in Beijing. "The aim of the upcoming consultations with the partner foreign ministry will be not only to deepen our long-standing multifaceted dialogue, but above all to prepare for an important visit of prime minister of the Slovak Republic Robert Fico to China, which will take place in June this year," added Estok. The ministry noted in this vein that 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of Czechoslovakia's recognition of the People's Republic of China, an event which led to establishing of diplomatic relations between the two countries. zel/mcs
