Slovakia Supports Turkey's Peacemaking Efforts in Ongoing Conflicts

Bratislava, April 16 (TASR) - Foreign and European Affairs Minister Juraj Blanar (Smer-SD) appreciated the effort by Turkey to actively contribute towards peacemaking in ongoing conflicts and pointed out that Slovakia supports earliest ceasefire possible in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine or the conflicts in the Middle East, TASR learnt on Tuesday from the ministry's press department after Blanar's meeting with Turkish Ambassador to Slovakia Erkan Ozoral on Monday (April 15). "In the meeting with the Ambassador, minister Blanar conveyed his thanks to Turkey over its organizing of the diplomatic forum in March in Antalya, and emphasized that the event had paved the ground for important diplomatic meetings there," said the ministry. In turn, Turkish Ambassador Ozoral thanked minister Blanar for Slovakia's support vis-a-vis Turkish aspirations to join the EU. Slovakia intends to develop an even closer Turkish-Slovak partnership and at the parliamentary level as well. "At the moment, there's a preparation underway for an important meeting between representatives of Slovak and Turkish parliaments in Ankara," added the ministry. mf
