Bratislava, September 11 (TASR) - Slovakia needs at least a domestic air route between Kosice, Poprad (Presov region) and Bratislava, with this being necessary for us to be able to keep these airports in operation, Parliamentary Chair Andrej Danko (Slovak National Party/SNS) stated in connection with the fact his party failed to push through a national air carrier, TASR learnt on Wednesday. However, Danko does not give up this idea. He noted that the national air carrier was not supported by Transport Minister Arpad Ersek (Most-Hid). "I believe we'll arrive at what I've always been saying that we need at least an internal flight route between Kosice, Poprad and Bratislava, because we won't be able to keep these airports, especially Poprad, in operation. There are terribly many problems related to operations in Poprad and those airports have been neglected for 30 years both in terms of runways and in terms of technology," added Danko. According to him, it is therefore necessary to look for sort of a system. "One of the ways is a national air carrier. However, we can't insist on this in the current financial situation," he stressed. am/mcs
