Bratislava, August 20 (TASR) - At a meeting with Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD) on Tuesday, Bratislava Mayor Matus Vallo suggested that the city could receive several tens of millions of euros from the state each year that Bratislava will use to ensure the obligations of the capital, TASR learnt on the same day. "We're looking for ways to do this without having to open the law on Bratislava," Vallo said at a briefing. Vallo also talked with Pellegrini about other topics of financial assistance for the capital. "In this context, we also discussed, for example, simplifying the process related to changing one's permanent residence and about making real the data on the number of people having their permanent residence in Bratislava, which is the basis for tax revenues for the city," said Vallo. "The meeting with Mayor Vallo is a signal that the Government is ready to help the capital," the prime minister said in a media statement, stressing that the capital is the gateway to the country, the seat of important state institutions, and therefore deserves a special status. The Cabinet should deal with a proposal of possible solutions in individual areas at one of its autumn sessions. "We agreed that one of the away-from-home sessions will be held here in Bratislava and the Government will focus only on Bratislava's problems at the meeting. I hope that specific measures will be taken," added Vallo. am
