Bratislava, July 20 (TASR) - Four political parties have been established in Slovakia this year, including Hungarian Forum, Slovak Revival Movement, Doprava (meaning both 'transport' and 'to the right' in Slovak), and Christian Democracy - Life and Prosperity, Silvia Keratova from the Interior Ministry's press department told TASR, adding that no political party has been dissolved or cancelled this year. Last year, only one new political party was formed, namely Together - Civic Democracy, and three parties were cancelled in 2018. More than 150 political parties and movements are currently registered in Slovakia. Many of them are in liquidation. New parties need at least 10,000 signatures from citizens to register. New rules for political parties have been effective since January. Among other things, the law has imposed limits on the number of members, it should prevent buying of parties and it also regulates the handling of financial gifts. Another new thing is that the name of a political party or its abbreviation can't contain the name or surname of the person who is a statutory body, a member of the statutory body or a member of the preparatory committee of the party. am
