Proud of Family March Shows Joy of Family, Emphasises Need of Mother and Father

Bratislava, July 20 (TASR) - The Proud of Family march points to the importance of the family and the irreplaceable role of a father and mother for every child, with the eighth year of the Proud of Family march in Bratislava being also supported by Parliamentary Chair Andrej Danko (Slovak National Party/SNS), TASR learnt on Saturday. "The reason why we've come here is just to show the joy of family, and that children need a father and a mother. Children are most important for us and we want them to be given the best," said one of the march organisers Anton Chromik from the civic initiative Proud of Family. The march organisers do not have any demands to change the current legislation. "We think it's a good idea to keep the current status and we even want the family to keep its special status in society," said Chromik. The parliamentary chair is pleased to live in a country where, on the one hand, people supporting the LGBTI community have expressed their opinions as well as those who are proud of family. "I'm sure that there will be free and democratic expressions of people as it is appropriate for a mature and democratic country respecting the rule of law," stated Danko. am
