Statistics: Revenues in Five First Months of 2019 Up 1.6 percent Y-o-Y

Bratislava, July 12 (TASR) - Revenues for own goods and activities in May increased on a month-on-month basis most notably in the IT sector - by 1.6 percent, the Statistics Office reported on Friday. Other increases were registered in transport and warehousing (1.4 percent) and in selected market services (1 percent). Conversely, revenues dropped in construction (2.4 percent) and in industry (0.6 percent). Revenues in the first five months of 2019 recorded a year-on-year uptick of 1.6 percent. This was largely due to increases in water supplies, sewage water disposal and waste disposal - by 13.4 percent; in mining - by 9.5 percent; in industrial production - by 2.1 percent; and in construction - by 3.9 percent. Revenues in supplies of electricity, gas, steam and cold air saw a drop of 4.4 percent. Total revenues in industry in the first five months increased y-o-y by 6.6 percent due to growth in water supplies, sewage water disposal and waste disposal services - by 13.8 percent; in industrial production - by 8.2 percent; in mining - by 6.6 percent. Meanwhile, revenues in supplies of electricity, gas, steam and cold air contracted by 4.9 percent. Revenues in construction went up by 5.1 percent. zel/df/bub
