Average Nominal Salary in IT Up 15.8 percent Y-o-Y in April

Bratislava, June 12 (TASR) - The average nominal monthly salary posted the highest annual rise in April in the IT sector - by 15.8 percent to €2,054, the Statistics Office announced on Wednesday. Other nominal salary increases were as follows: in pubs and restaurants - by 12.3 percent to €510; in industry - by 8.1 percent to €1,187; in transport and warehousing - by 7.1 percent to €1,012; in selected market services - by 6.9 percent to €981; in accommodation - by 6.1 percent to €743; in wholesale - by 4.9 to €1,006; in retail - by 4.6 percent to €747; in construction - by 4.3 percent to €732; and in the sale and repair of motor vehicles - by 1 percent to €1,030. Average real salaries in April grew y-o-y in the following sectors: in the IT sector by 13.2 percent; in restaurants and pubs - 9.8 percent; in industry - 5.7 percent; in transport and warehousing - 4.7 percent; in selected market services - 4.5 percent; in accommodation - 3.7 percent; in wholesale - 2.5 percent; in retail - 2.2 percent; and in construction - 2 percent. They dropped only in the sale and maintenance of motor vehicles - by 1.3 percent. In the first four months of 2019 nominal monthly salaries increased when compared to the respective period of 2018 in the following sectors: in pubs and restaurants - by 9 percent to €499; in wholesale - by 8.7 percent to €1,016; in transport and warehousing - by 8.7 percent to €986; in selected services - by 8.1 percent to €989; in accommodation - by 7.8 percent to €747; in industry - by 6.4 percent to €1,123; in the sale and maintenance of motor vehicles - by 6.4 percent to €1,032; in construction - by 6.3 percent to €714; in retail - by 5.7 percent to €739; and in the IT sector - by 4.6 percent to €1,991. Real monthly salaries grew y-o-y as follows: in pubs and restaurants - 6.4 percent; in wholesale and in transport and warehousing - both 6.2 percent; in selected services - 5.6 percent; in accommodation - 5.3 percent; in industry and in the sale and maintenance of motor vehicles - both 3.9 percent; in construction - 3.8 percent; in retail - 3.2 percent; and in the IT sector - 2.1 percent. zel/df/ko
