Sefcovic: Caputova Should Shed Light on Her Practice as Legal Clerk

Bratislava, March 23 (TASR) - Presidential candidate Maros Sefcovic in a debate on RTVS on Saturday called on his rival Zuzana Caputova to provide a proper explanation of her practice as legal assistant at a law firm before she was officially allowed to became a legal professional on her own. "I haven't found any interpretation [of the law] allowing to be a legal clerk and a self-employed person at the same time," said Sefcovic. Meanwhile, Caputova stated that the challenging of her practice as legal clerk is only a display of an anti-campaign in the run-up to the second round of the presidential election due next Saturday. She further stressed that she acted in line with the law in force at that time. Sefcovic on the programme noted that a justice minister in the neighbouring Czech Republic was forced to resign some time ago over a similar issue. Caputova and Sefcovic advanced to the presidential election run-off due on March 30 by receiving 40.57 percent and 18.66 percent of the votes, respectively, in the first round on March 16. bub
