Maiga: I Have No Information about Kosik, There Are Only Two Options

Bratislava, March 15 (TASR) - I have no information about Lubos Kosik, a former member of the Slovak Intelligence Service (SIS), who was allegedly kidnapped from his house in the Malian capital Bamako in January, TASR learnt on Friday from actor and singer Ibrahim Maiga, who is Kosik's friend and is originally from the West African country. "There are only two options. Either in the best case he organised it himself to have peace, or there is a second, worse possibility that someone was after him," said Maiga. The Justice Ministry has no new information, either. "The ministry has already submitted several previous extradition requests on this matter; that is, it's asked for the return of Mr. Kosik. As the Slovak Republic doesn't have an extradition agreement with Mali, we don't have any new information on this matter," said Justice Ministry spokeswoman Zuzana Drobova. Kosik was reportedly kidnapped on January 15. Kosik's Malian lawyer Youssouf Keita stated that his client was kidnapped by armed men from his home in Bamako. He's filed a criminal complaint in this regard. The former SIS member has long claimed that he's willing to provide testimony on the 1995 kidnapping of former President Michal Kovac's son by the Slovak Intelligence Service and on other cases concerning former SIS members. am/df
