Stats Office: Revenues in Industry Up 0.3 percent M-o-M in December

Bratislava, February 11 (TASR) - Revenues for own activities and goods in December 2018 increased on a month-on-month basis in industry - by 0.3 percent, and in selected market services - 0.2 percent, the Slovak Statistics Office reported on Monday. Conversely, revenues in the following sectors went down: in information and communications activities - 5.2 percent m-o-m, in construction - 1.7 percent, and in transport and warehousing - 1.6 percent in December. Revenues in industry rose by 4 percent year-on-year in December. This was largely due to increases in mining and quarrying - by 23.5 percent; in manufacturing - 7.8 percent; in water supplies, sewage water disposal and waste disposal - 3.7 percent; and in supplies of electricity, gas, steam and cold air - 13 percent. Meanwhile, revenues in construction went up by 10.5 percent y-o-y. Total revenues in industry for the whole of last year increased by 6.1 percent y-o-y due to growth in water supplies, sewage water disposal and waste disposal services - by 7.8 percent; in manufacturing - 7.6 percent; and in mining and quarrying - 6.3 percent. Meanwhile, revenues in electricity, gas, steam and cold air contracted by 3.6 percent. Revenues in construction swelled by 10.9 percent y-o-y. ko/df
