Trade Unions in ZSR Rail Infrastructure Operator Announce Strike Alert

11. januára 2019 13:05
Bratislava, January 11 (TASR) - Trade unions operating at the state-owned railway infrastructure operator ZSR launched a strike alert on Friday, stating that the reason is the employer's approach to collective bargaining, TASR learnt on the same day. With this announcement, the trade unions want to draw attention to the fact that "social peace is endangered" as the ZSR collective agreement for the years 2017-2018 was terminated on December 31, 2018 and that the director general issued a unilateral internal regulation. According to the trade union organisations, the director on his own decided by this regulation to guarantee the benefits he had selected without agreement with his partners. "As the efforts of the trade unions to seek compromises and invitations to a negotiation table are being postponed by ZSR, the trade unions are entering a strike alert from January 11, 2019, 10 a.m.," they said in a statement. The organisations called on Transport Minister Arpad Ersek (Most-Hid) to personally begin dealing with the situation in ZSR. am/mcs
