Danko to Face No-confidence Motion on Wednesday Morning

Bratislava, November 20 (TASR) - Parliamentary Chair Andrej Danko (Slovak National Party/SNS) will once again face a no-confidence motion at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, November 21 at the behest of the Opposition, which wants to oust him over allegations that his rigorous thesis was plagiarised, Danko's spokesman Tomas Kostelnik confirmed for TASR on Tuesday. The Opposition condemns plagiarism and declares that plagiarising texts written by others is shameful in a civilised country. "To steal the texts of others is unacceptable," underlined Parliamentary Vice-chair Lucia Duris Nicholsonova (Freedom and Solidarity/SaS) when submitting the motion to hold the no-confidence vote. Ordinary People (OLaNO) party MP Marek Krajci stated that the people of Slovakia deserve to learn how Danko drafted his rigorous thesis. "I reckon that he'll have some explaining to do at the session," he said. The Opposition also attempted to oust Danko in early November, but the session agenda wasn't approved by a sufficient number of MPs at that time. The situation should be different on this occasion, however, as Danko has announced that SNS will support the convening of the session and that he'd ask his coalition partners to do the same. mf/df/tz
