Median SK Poll: Smer-SD Would Have Won October Election on 26%

Bratislava, November 16 (TASR) - Had a general election taken place in October, it would have been won by the governing Smer-SD party on 26 percent of the votes, ahead of the Opposition SaS party on 14.7 percent and OLaNO on 9.9 percent of the votes, TASR learnt from a poll conducted by Median SK agency, which released the results on Friday. According to the poll carried out on a sample of 970 respondents between October 2-November 3, another four political parties would have made it into Parliament - SNS on 8.8 percent of the votes, We Are Family on 8,1 percent, KDH on 7.3 percent and the far-right LSNS party on 7.2 percent of the votes. Other parties, including Most-Hid, the ethnic-Hungarian SMK party as well as the newly established parties Progressive Slovakia and Together, wouldn't have reached the 5-percent threshold needed to get into the House. The poll showed that 58 percent of the respondents would have gone to the polling stations. tz
